LL

« Back to Glossary Index

LL or in full International Load Line Certificate (1966) is an international certificate that guarantees that a ship can be safely loaded and sail at sea without risk of sinking. This certificate shows the load lines drawn at specific points on the ship’s deck. These lines are determined based on factors such as the ship’s size, structure, season, and the area in which it will operate. The LL certificate aims to reduce maritime accidents by preventing the ship from being overloaded. This certificate is issued under the 1966 International Convention on Load Lines adopted by the International Maritime Organization (IMO)
