The ship, which was found to have polluted the sea in Kocaeli/Turkiye, was fined 4 million 176 thousand 091 TL (242,898 USD).
During the controls carried out by the Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Environmental Protection and Control Department teams in the Gulf of Izmit, it was determined that a ship had polluted the sea off Izmit Anchorage area. Checks were made by seaplane. Acting on this, the teams fined the ship 4 million 176 thousand 091 TL (242,898 USD). Then, while precautions were taken to prevent the pollution from spreading, cleaning works were started in the sea.
