It has been announced that the crews of the two Greek ships that Iran detained in the Persian Gulf on 27 May will be released.
In a statement by the Panhellenic Association of Merchant Marine Transport Seafarers of Greece, it was emphasized that the crews of the ships named Prudent Warrior and Delta Poseidon, which Iran detained in May, could not return to their homes for more than three months.
In the statement, it was stated that the sailors were in a psychologically difficult situation, and it was noted that Iran accepted the crew change and the returns will start from Monday.
Greece Seized Iranian oil at the Request of the USA
On May 25, Greece seized the oil tanker Lana carrying Iranian oil at the request of the USA and seized the oil carried by the ship with a court decision.
Iran reacted to the Greek decision to detain the ship, and Greece’s Euboean Court of Appeals granted a permission to the tanker Lana on 28 June.
Iran also detained two Greek ships in the Persian Gulf
The Revolutionary Guards Army also seized two oil tankers from Greece, Prudent Warrior and Delta Poseidon, in the Persian Gulf on May 27, and seized approximately 1.8 million barrels of oil from the tankers.
