The chief officer of the Liberian flagged container ship MSC NADRIELY, sailing from Poti to Istanbul, fell overboard off Türkeli. The incident occurred while the vessel was underway. After the incident was detected, a rapid rescue operation was initiated.
Following the notification to the Main Search and Rescue Coordination Centre (SARC) authorities, the authorities took immediate action. After this incident off Türkeli, the search for the missing crew members intensified. As a result of the search and rescue operations, the missing chief mate was found alive at sea by a commercial vessel named MOONLIGHT.

The rescued chief mate was immediately transferred to the hospital by Turkish Coast Guard Command (TCSG) elements and necessary medical intervention was initiated.
