It was announced from the publication that a new period was entered in the follow-up of ship wastes, and that a change was made in the “Maritime Waste Implementation Circular” in Turkiye.
It is stated in the circular that the obligation to leave their wastes to the ‘waste reception facility’ within 48 hours from the time they return to the port, especially for ships with a carrying capacity of 12 people and above, including passenger ships, sea tourism vehicles and fishing boats, has been increased to 10 days. is stated.
In this context, it is stated that an administrative fine starting from 32 thousand 855 liras will be applied to ships and fishing boats that do not leave their wastes within 10 days and do not fulfill the determined obligations, depending on the nature of the violation and the size of the vessel.
